Currently, our Diversity recorders with v8.2.3.x firmware and above support sending a single camera live to YouTube. Below are steps on how to enable this feature.
- First, log into the Diversity Recorder's web interface, either with CMSONE or with the local IP address, and navigate to Configuration->Network->Platform Access->RTMP and then enable this option. You will then need to select which stream (Main Stream or Substream) and which channel you will want to stream from the recorder. At the moment, since RTMP only supports H.264, the recorder will automatically change the stream you are wanting to send to YouTube to use the H.264 compression format.
- Also you will need to make sure that Audio is enabled on the camera, if it is supported. You can find where to enable this in Configuration->Record Settings->Encode and then under whichever stream you are wanting to send to YouTube.
- Next, you will need to log into your YouTube account, and navigate to the Studio->Live settings. Here you will be able to find the primary Stream URL and also your Stream key. You will need both of those copied or saved somewhere (such as a text file) for ease of use in the next step.
- Return back to the web interface for the Diversity recorder and navigate to Configuration->Network->Platform Access->RTMP.
For the Server Address, you will need to combine both the Stream URL and Stream Key from Step #3 into a full URL/URI so that the camera can point exactly to your channel, adding just a "/" in between the two. So for example below:
Stream URL: rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2
Stream Key: rg4ZafhLBu9RxZ5gIpw62t2r
Server Address: rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2/rg4ZafhLBu9RxZ5gIpw62t2r
After you have entered the combined full Server Address into the field, click on the Save button. Wait for up to one minute for the chosen camera to start streaming to YouTube. - Finally navigate back to your YouTube account page and you should see that the stream is being detected and showing a video stream. If you see this, then everything has been configured correctly.
- If you are having any issues configuring this for your camera, please feel free to contact our support department for assistance.
