Currently, if you are using AVYCON Plug & Play recorders we offer the free software solution called CVMS 2.0 Lite. Since this software is designed for typical usage by an end user (non-installer or non-enterprise), we have a limit of adding up to 256 channels(cameras) to the software. This usually is acceptable for 90-95% of our customer base.

If your application requires more than 256 channels(cameras) to be managed, unfortunately you will have to download and install the CVMS Server and Client software. This software can integrate and manage up to 2,048 channels (cameras), but you will need to request a license from us, and also we highly recommend running the software on a server-grade PC, with at least 16GB of RAM. Below are steps on how to install and request the licenses:

  1. Visit our website https://avycon.com and navigate to the Download Center.

  2. Once in the Download Center, search for the term "CVMS Server". This should point you to the most recent version of the CVMS 2.0 Server and Client software.

  3. Once downloaded, extract all the files in the archive and then run the CVMS 2.0 Standard Server installer first. After it has completed the installation, it should add an icon labeled "CVMS2-Services".

  4. Double-click on this icon and it should show you a window with all of the services running. Please make sure that all services are shown as running, otherwise the software will not function properly.

  5. Next, run the CMVS 2.0 Standard Client installer and when it has finished, double-click on the icon labeled "AVYCON CVMS 2.0"

  6. You will then see a login window, where you can log into the Server using this client software. Default password for the system is "123456".

  7. After successfully logging in, on first launch you will be shown a window to create Security Questions and Answers. You can skip this if you'd like, but you should complete it and write down or take a picture of the screen, since this will be the only way to recover a forgotten password.

  8. You will then be shown a window to choose the drive on the PC that you want to store any downloaded video clips or saved snapshots. Please select a drive and then click on the OK button.

  9. Next, from the top right of the CVMS 2.0 Client software, click on the small User icon and then on Register.

  10. When the Register window pops up, please take a screenshot of this and email us this image (support@avycon.com). Also, if you can copy and paste the Serial number listed, it will speed up the license process.

Please also indicate how many channels(cameras) you will be needing to manage and we will usually reply in 24-48 hours.
