Our AIVO 7" testers (models released after 2020) are capable of installing and using our proprietary Axis application (Axs Test Tool). This app is designed to scan for any Axis IP cameras that are connected to the tester, and allow to activate and add an ONVIF user, which is required for integration with our Plug & Play and Diversity series recorders. Below are directions on how to launch and use the application, and even install the app if it was not pre-installed on your device.

Launching / Installing the Axis application

  • From the main Home screen, if the Axis app was already pre-installed, it will be found in the My Apps folder.

  • Depending on how many apps have been installed from our proprietary App Store, you may need to scroll down in the list of apps to find the Axis app. It will be labeled as "Axs Test Tool".

  • If you find that the Axs Test Tool was not pre-installed, there is a way to check our Application Update app to see if it is available to be installed on a compatible tester. If the app was already available on your tester, please skip down to the Using the Axs Test Tool application section below.

Please note that you must be connected to the Internet in order to check for and install the Axs Test Tool.

First, tap on the Update tile.

  • Next, launch the Application Update app.

  • After the app has launched, tap on the Online Update button to have the app search for any online updates/installs. Then scroll down to find the Axs Test Tool and then install or update the app.

  • You should then be asked to grant permission to install or update the app. Please tap on the Install button to continue with the installation

Using the Axs Test Tool application

  • In order for any connected Axis IP cameras to be powered, you will first need to confirm that the PoE power output has been turned on to provide PoE power through the LAN port on the tester. You can enable this using the application labeled POE power output found under the IP Camera Test folder.

Then after you have confirmed that the Axis IP camera is being powered, launch the Axs Test Tool application.

From within the app, you should see the Axis IP camera(s) you had connected listed in the Device List on the left.

By default, in the Password section (A), we have populated with a generic password of "acdb1234". You can change this to whatever values you want that will adhere to the rules set by Axis.

Once you have finalized the passwords for both the Main and ONVIF passwords, tap on the Add ONVIF user/Activate button (B). This will assign the main camera account and the ONVIF user a password. Please take note that for the ONVIF user created, it will use "admin" as the username.

If you receive a message that the user was successfully created, then you can tap on the Login button (C) and this will login to the camera and then allow you to start viewing video and position camera.

If you have successfully logged into the camera, then the next step to start viewing live video from the camera is to press the Play button. After pressing the Play button, another window will pop up and allow you to choose the following:

- ONVIF: This will open up the ONVIF video viewer and start trying to display the video using the ONVIF protocol

- NON ONVIF:  This will open up our RTSP viewer that tries to send the camera an RTSP request.

- Web page:  This will open up a browser window with the IP address of the Axis IP camera you are working with.

  • If everything was successfully configured, then you should be able to start monitoring live video from your Axis IP Camera.
