When using the CMSONE software on a PC with either the Windows or macOS operating system, you will notice that after launching the program you might see a window like below.
By default, CMSONE is designed to allow you switch between either an Account Login mode or a Device Login mode. Below is a quick breakdown of how each mode works:
- Account Login mode - This mode enables you to manage, connect and view many different recorders. This is useful if a user has multiple recorders and wants to be able to view live or recorded video from different systems at the same time.
- Device Login mode [see image below]- This mode is a stripped-down version of the Account Login mode. It will only allow you to connect to a single recorder with either the P2P code or the the local/public IP address (A) of the device, along with the port number (B) and credentials. This is useful if you only want to quickly connect to a device.
Because this version of the software will only allow you to view live video, recording and configure settings, it will perform better than the Account Login mode, which loads the complete version of the software. This can be helpful if you are using an underpowered computer to view your cameras.
We typically recommend an i7 CPU with 16GB RAM and a dedicated GPU for being able to display 25 or more cameras simultaneously.
