For our Diversity Series IP Cameras (v8.2.2+), if you happen to forget the password for the main admin account, there may be a way to reset the password when accessing the camera through the web interface.
At the main login page, if you do see a link labeled "Recover Password", this means that there has been a method enabled to reset the password using a web browser.
If you do see the Recover Password link, please click on it and follow direction directly below, according to which method is available from the dropdown menu. If you do not see the Recover Password link, then unfortunately you will have to reach the camera physically and remove a metal cover or open the body of the camera to default the camera with a reset button. Instructions for this are found at the end of this article under the Reset Button Method section.
Security Question Method
If this method is available, you will be asked to answer three security questions that yourself or your installer created answers for during the initial configuration. If you have those answers available, please input all three answera. Then decide on a new password, making sure to type it in both the New Password and Confirm Password fields and then click on the OK button. If everything is correct, it will have changed the password and you can proceed with the new camera password.
Certificate of Authorization Method
If the Certificate of authorization method is available, this will require a "certificate.txt" file that was created when the camera was initially configured. Please find that file and then click on the Import button.
If the file is the correct file for the camera, there will be a message displayed in the Recover Password window. Then create a new password, making sure to type it in both the New Password and Confirm Password fields and then click on the OK button. If everything is correct, it will have changed the password and you can proceed with the new camera password.
Super Code Method
If this method is available, it will require you to call our Technical Support department and based off the information displayed on the screen, our technicians can provide you a reset code. Then create a new password, making sure to type it in both the New Password and Confirm Password fields and then click on the OK button. If everything is correct, it will have changed the password and you can proceed with the new camera password.
Reset Button Method
If you do not see any link to recover the password for the IP camera, then unfortunately the only option left will be to physically access the camera and find the reset button. Usually the reset button is located either behind the metal cover for the microSD slot, or inside the body of the camera (usually only for the Vandal Dome body type). Once you have found the reset button, you will need to press and hold the button down for 10-15 seconds while the camera is powered.
If the camera was successfully reset, when you try to access the web interface for the camera it will prompt you to create a new password.
Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our Technical Support department during regular business hours.
