If you have purchased one of our Diversity Series Autotracking IP PTZ cameras (AVC-NSZ51X33L / AVC-NSZ21X25L) and have it integrated with a Diversity Series NVR (firmware version v8.2.3.2+), you can enable and configure the auto-tracking capabilities from the interface of the recorder, either through the local interface or through the web interface. This is only possible with the Human / Vehicle Detection Smart Analytic. Below is a quick guide for configuration:
1. Once the Diversity Series Autotracking PTZ camera has successfully been added to NVR with proper firmware (firmware version v8.2.3.2+), you can then navigate to Configuration->AI->Setup. Within this page, you will need to click on the Human&Vehicle Detection section and then from the Camera drop-down field, select the auto tracking PTZ camera.
Make sure to pay attention to Detection Type, Mode and Range if you want to filter the tracking by type of object detected and also where in the view you want the detection to occur.
2. Most importantly, make sure that the Link Auto PTZ Tracking option is enabled for the camera (see image below) and click on the Save button when you are done with all configurations for Human & Vehicle detection.
3. Click on the Live link to return to the Live View page. Find the camera channel for the Diversity Autotracking PTZ camera and then bring that camera into a single-channel view. This can be accomplished by double-clicking with the left mouse button within the frame of the channel. After you have the PTZ camera in the single-channel view, then click on the PTZ controls button to expand the panel from the right side of your browser.
4. With the PTZ control panel expanded, click on the Mode tab to show the rest of the option and then select Preset Cruise from the drop-down menu right underneath the Mode tab. Now we will use the PTZ controls to aim the camera at a "virtual home" preset, where we would like the camera will return to after it has tracked an object. When you have locked in your position, click on the gear icon on the first line of preset memory spaces and this will save the preset.
5. Next we need to click on the drop-down menu again that is directly under the Mode tab and choose Watch Mode. From this menu, we can change the options below:
- Time Interval: This controls how long PTZ will track before returning to the Watch Point
- Mode: Please choose Watch Mode Set to configure the Watch Point
- Number: This is the Preset number that you are choosing for the PTZ camera to return to
- Cruise: If button has the Play(⏵) symbol on it, Watch Mode is not active. Clicking will activate Watch Mode.
6. Once the Watch Mode has been activated, you can stop it by clicking on the Cruise button again. It will change from the ⏹ symbol back to the ⏵ symbol.
