Fisheye IPC Integration with all other Plug & Play Series Recorders

If you are wanting to add a Plug & Play Fisheye IP camera to any other Plug and Play Series recorder that does not natively support de-warping, you can add individual RTSP streams from the Fisheye IPC as different channels, so that you can approximate the views that would occur with native de-warping. Follow the steps below to enable and configure this feature:

  • The fisheye IPC will need to be powered and connected to the LAN that the recorder is connected to. Unfortunately, this method will not work if the fisheye IPC is connected to a PoE port on the back of an NVR.
  • You will need to log into the web interface of the Fisheye IPC with Internet Explorer on a Windows computer. You may be prompted to install plugins. Please follow all directions given by the plugin installer.
  • After successfully logging into the fisheye IPC, you will need to confirm that the fisheye IPC is configured in the proper mode. Click on Config->System->Fisheye Parameters and make sure that the Stream Mode is set to Fisheye or 4 PTZ. Also, make sure the Installation Method (orientation) is set correctly too. (See image below)

  • Then, on the AVYCON recorder, you will need to add the channels from the Fisheye camera manually. Navigate to Camera->Add->Manual Add and then under the Protocol list click on Custom, which will allow you to create a different custom protocol for each view you are trying to stream from the fisheye camera so that you can get both the Main Stream and Sub stream feeds for each view. Make sure to use the correct RTSP port (default 554) for the camera. Below is the syntax that you will need to put in the Resource Path field:

        Resource path:                profileX

                                                (X=values from 1-11)

        (X value and corresponding view)

  1. Main Stream (Fisheye View)
  2. Sub Stream (Fisheye View)
  3. Third Stream (Fisheye View)
  4. Top Left Quadrant (Main Stream)
  5. Top Left Quadrant (Sub Stream)
  6. Top Right Quadrant(Main Stream)
  7. Top Right Quadrant (Sub Stream)
  8. Bottom Left Quadrant(Main Stream)
  9. Bottom Left Quadrant (Sub Stream)
  10. Bottom Right Quadrant(Main Stream)
  11. Bottom Right Quadrant (Sub Stream)

After saving custom protocols for whatever view(s) you are trying to add to your AVYCON recorder, then you will need to add each view as a camera/channel. After hitting the OK button, you should have been directed back to the Manually Add section under the Add Camera menu. From here, choose each view from the drop-down menu and then enter the IP address or domain of the camera, and the correct user credentials. After everything is entered correctly (see reference image below), you can click Add and the channel will be added. Make sure that you receive a status of Online and preview the channel to confirm the connection.
